Jorge Sampaio Awarded by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean Featured

"I am most pleased, honoured and humbled to receive this award for the work accomplished by the Global Platform for Syrian Students over the past 5 years."

Mr. Jorge Sampaio, Former President of Portugal (1996-2006) and Chairman of the Global Platform for Syrian Students was Awarded by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) for his work accomplished by the GP4SYS.

 

This award is intended to "reward individuals, organizations and institutions who have demonstrated through their work a strong and visible commitment, an exceptional achievement and an active promotion of Mediterranean ideals, as foreseen by the statutes and mission statement of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean" .

The distinction took place during the 12th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean held in the Parliament of Bucharest (Romania) on 16 February 2018. The Parliamentary Assembly for the Mediterranean (WPM) is composed by representatives of 27 Mediterranean countries of which Portugal is a part.
